Senior Member Posts: 172 Group: Member Member #102 Joined: Jan 14 2010	Alright, since a lot of people I talk to do not know what Minecraft is, I will make a thread about it. Minecraft is pretty much a free-roam game, there is no objective so you just make your own fun. Think of this game kind of like Garry's Mod, only you put more work into it. There are two different Minecraft's at the moment: Minecraft Alpha (because it is in it's late Alpha stage) and Minecraft Classic (Free!) In Minecraft Classic, there is no crafting or gathering materials, it is just a free build. This mode can either be played in single, or multiplayer. In single player all you really do is build stuff by yourself; whereas in multiplayer you build stuff with other people. There are no mods in multiplayer so all you can do is strictly build stuff (cool stuff I might add), but people can grief if the server's GMs aren't fast. Minecraft Alpha is where the fun (to me is). In single player you see this giant, randomly developed world come around you. You must gather resources to make some sort of structure so that you can live through the night. The game switches from day to night every 5-10 minutes, not too sure. At night there are Creepers, Skeleton, Zombies, and spiders that will all try and come kill you if you are not careful. A good thing about this is that you can easily block yourself from them even if they see you. But anyway, during your first day you will usually gather wood, turn the wood into planks, and start making wooden tools (Axe,Pick,Shovel,Sword). Most people usually find some sort of cave to dig in at the start, but before you do that you must find coal to light torches so you can see down in the mine. In caverns and mines is where the best minerals are at. Once you aquire some of the best minerals you can start to build forts, houses, pools, and other various items. In multiplayer in Alpha in it's current state you pretty much do the same thing with multiple people, but there are mods and stuff to keep people from griefing. League of Legends Officer Posts: 113 Group: Saga Member #783 Joined: Oct 17 2011	i started a server running from my computer, i may someday put it in the cloud, but if anyone wants to join me, the ip address is 24.113.220.48 it should work, but it's the first server i've started, so it may not. tell me if it doesn't! i'd like to keep this server an in-house server, so ffg/saga people happy crafting!
