I personally can't wait. The Trilogy is hands down some of my favorite films of all time so this one is a day one for me without a doubt. I know the original cast expressed interested to return in some form in the prequel. We'll see what happens.

Specifically asked Jackson if he could rule out any of the oft-rumored candidates to play Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings prequel, specifically Daniel Radcliffe, Martin Freeman, James McAvoy and David Tennant. He said some of them were not under consideration, but refused to say who had been ruled out because he didn't want anyone to figure anything out via process of elimination.

However, Jackson did emphasize that casting directors for The Hobbit are currently auditioning unknown actors for the role of Bilbo.

We also asked Jackson if he was planning on directing another movie while Guillermo del Toro was filming The Hobbit. Jackson said he was considering doing that since he didn't think he'd have all that much to do on-set as the film's executive producer, but he hadn't decided yet if he would or even what movie he might direct next.

"A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you- stand, Men of the West! "
