Next Gears of War To Have Playable Female Character?; Cliff Bleszinski drops a few hints.

This is an interesting spin. I am curious whether it will attract female gamers to the series. I know whenever I used to have my ex over, she never wanted to play the game because none of the characters fit her profile (or gender). This should turn out as a pretty good marketing plan, I am just curious how they will incorporate a female charact4er into the story.

Will gamers finally be able to play as a female in the Gears of War series?
That's the question Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski was asked by 1 vs. 100 Live host Chris Cashman during a game this past Saturday, according to Binge Gamer.
Bleszinski danced around the question and said he couldn't comment on "'possible aspects' of a game that 'may or may not' be in development."

He then followed up on his comment by saying the female character sitting on top of a dead Brumak from the comic series "'may or may not' be involved in any 'as-yet-unannounced' video game projects."

To further add to the speculation, the director on the upcoming Gears of War movie, Len Wiseman, said at Comic Con he wants female characters in the movie. "I'd love to see it happen. I'm a big supporter of that."

Well i think it would help the series greatly as i know many males like to play as female characters, (lol) and not having one kind of hinders it as many other series have the option to play as one.

Personally, I don't like this idea. The main reason I like Gears of War is because of the overexaggerated, super-steroid pumping men just roaring their heads off with chainsaw guns tearing up their enemies, and overall, seeming more threatening themselves than the enemy. I don't think the effect would work out with females.

Well, by looking at the art, she looks like a complete bad ass mother fucker. Who knows, Cliff has a way with characters so I don't think he can do wrong.

I like the idéa, anything that could bring in more female gamers are very welcome in my book. My GF often just stick to mmorpg's since they about always offer the option to play female characters, and shes very very picky with her characters. It dosn't matter if the game is exellent to her, if she cant customize and dress her character, or atleast play a female character shes not going to play the game.

As for how they would fit in the game I can't comment on, I havent played any of the Gears of War games, yet ^_^

I don't really think this will help bring any girls to the series that don't already like it, although it's a good idea.
But it's a step in the right direction for game developers to incorporate females, and get them interested in games like this i suppose.
Overall i don't t think it will make a big difference but i also doubt it will hurt the game.

Yeah, but she doesn't seem like an absolute TANK compared to the rest of the guys. If they do have women in the game, they should do something like make them Physically weaker, but quicker, since they already are smaller targets.

I'm female myself and I wouldn't like it tbh, just doesn't fit to the concept of big guns, aliens and gore.
