Well I just finished up my first signature, I tried following some tutorials but most of them are written by people who know photoshop in and out so the steps they list are to tough for me to follow. I just messed around for a few hours with different layers and what not. ~Tomas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very nice. They look really cool. A few helpful tips: Sig 1) The main thing about this sig is that it has lots of negative space (emptiness). Try filing it up with distortions or faded out images of the render or something else entirely. The other tip is about color. Try to base the entire sig on the colors of the render. For example, the render used in this sig is dirty green and navy blue. Color wheel: http://kimberlywinston.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/colorwheel1.jpg To use the color wheel you take the most prominent color, find it on the color wheel. The colors on both sides of the prominent color on the color wheel are the best to use. You can ALSO use the color on the very opposite of the prominent color on the wheel. Hope that makes sense. Sig 2) This is a very nice looking sig. Kudos for this one. The only thing that might be a little wierd is the lighting. The knight's lighting is from the top-right, yet the background has lighting on both sides. Very nice sigs. Keep going, I'm sure you'd become an awesome GFX artist. Thanks for the tips. Yeah, the first one did not turn out good at all, I was just messing around with clouds/brushes. As for the lighting on the second one, I don't even understand how I positioned it where it is sitting at, randomness on my part. How do I create borders? I tried fill or stroke, but it wouldn't really work for me. Thanks again, ~Tomas |

A couple of ways to create borders. I'll show you the simplest. Once you're done with the sig, make a new layer on top of everything else. Then tap Ctrl + A so you select all layers. Goto Edit -> Stroke. It opens up a box. Choose whatever options you want, and you're done. For a 350*150 sig you would want want a 1 px border IF you want it thin. If you want it thicker than increase the pixels. Also, there's an option to keep the stroke inside, outside, or in the center. I advise center. If this doesn't work tell me. P.S. Look at my earlier post. I added the color wheel to it. Edited by Moridin, Jul 6 2009, 10:03 PM.

Added a couple more. I starting messing around with brushes a bit more. Just stacking layers and whatnot. ~Tomas |
