Reviews seem great if a well-informed , nonbiased person would do it.

I would have no problem with it but...

The only reviews that people would care about is brand new just released games. That would require a huge team of people with a big budget reviewing the games.

Why do we need a large team of people? We can simply have people doing simple review like:

Bla bla bla game

Graphics 5/10
bla bla bla bla

Sounds 6/10
bla bla bla bla

Game Play 9/10
bla bla bla bla

Control 8/10
bla bla bla bla

Story 6/10
bla bla bla bla

There are dozens of games coming out each week. Even if you review 3 or 4 a week. Thats $200 right there.

I honestly don't see that being plausible.

Well if you can guarantee me the latest reviews done in full (I don't mean a couple of paragraphs) I want the whole deal, then I will make that section for you.

Okay, since it is summer for me. However, I am going back China for about 3 weeks from July 10th or so till about Aug. 3rd. Right now I'm 40% my way into Prototype so I should be reviewing pretty soon. ^^

Also, how new is new? I mean games that are 1 month old isn't that old!

And obviously I can't instant get the game the moment it is released if I were to get it for free. Usually it would take 2-3 days if it's not popular. If it's super hot, then I can get it in a day or so. If it's some game I've been waiting like Bioshock 2, I'd buy it when it comes out!

So yeah, that should be what you can expect. And to see if it is a full review or not, here's my review for Bioshock:

Quote:

9.5
superb

All Games have a special perspective and all Players have the divine right to look through it. Let's look at Bioshock.

Difficulty:
Just Right
Time Spent:
10 to 20 Hours
The Bottom Line:
"Immersive"

Good:

Amazing atmosphere and mood. Powerful customization with high flexibility of weapon choices. Unbelievably attractive storyline and astonishing voice acting. Excellent graphics second only to Crysis (CryEngine 2).

Bad:

Suffers Audio problems on some Vista machines; SecureROM Copy Protection problems; Online Activation is needed; Does not support Pixel Shader 2.0b.

Review:

Bioshock is designed by Ken Levine, developed by 2K Boston/2K Australia. While it may seem like a typical First Person Horror Shooter, it is definitely a more interesting mix of distinct Video Games genres including Role Playing, Strategy, and Action. The game is released on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and mobile. In addition, 2K's president Christoph Hartmann stated that BioShock could have five sequels, which only Bioshock 2 and Bioshock 3 has been announced.

Setting in 1960s, Bioshock delivers an acute pack of fictional ideas. Rapture, being the womb of all, is a city built under water envisioned by Ryan Andrew (voiced by Armin Shimerman), an industrialist who fantasizes the creation of a metropolis that is liberated from political, religious, economic, and ethical authorities. Built in shadows, Rapture is located at middle Atlantic, using only submarine volcanoes for Geothermal Power. Given the freedom at Rapture, Dr. Bridgette Tenenbaum is able to discover the ability to alter human genome given by a stem cell extracted from sea slug called ADAM. Such discovery is quickly put into mass production in the name of business; and in cooperation with Frank Fontaine (voiced by Greg Baldwin), Plasmid Industry is born. Anyone who is wealthy enough can purchase different genetic modifications that would make them God-Like. Shooting lightning bolts, igniting people or robots, displacing objects through space, manipulating insect groups, controlling cyclones, and fire freeze "beams" are now all realty thanks to Plasmid. Specifically, ADAM can only be mass produced inside young girls' stomachs by implanting the slugs inside. Fontaine targeted orphans for such purpose as Rapture is quite restriction-free.

Power inevitably saturated on Fontaine with technology like ADAM and the Plasmid Industry. As the gap between the rich and the poor grew ever more enormously, he began to capture the power of people in hopes to overthrow Ryan. Failure was the answer and death was given. Few months after Ryan took over the Plasmid Industry, a new leader voiced his place among the lower class. Atlas (voiced by Karl Hanover), as the new leader, led a new revolution against Ryan on New Year's Eve of 1959. Together with his Plasmid-infused followers, chaos rapidly spread through Rapture. As the war waged on, young female children called Little Sisters were indoctrinated to recycle the ADAM on the dead. Meanwhile, Big Daddies, mentally sterilized humans in armored diving suits, created by Dr. Suchong, were given life to protect the Little Sisters while they carry their duty.

The game begins with the player role playing Jack who happens to be a passenger flying over the Atlantic. Surprising the air plane crashed in the middle, leaving all but Jack tolled by death. Fire surrounds Jack as the only way out is to approach a strange Light-House like building in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Excitingly a bathysphere inside the building takes Jack under water and introduces Rapture for the first time.

Horror was the first impression as Rapture is filled with mutated "splicers" because of a draw back in the Plasmid. The mood is fairly dark and mysterious, leaving the player wonder about so many things. Atlas is the first important character to be introduced to the player during the "elevator" ride to Rapture. He will also be the "tourist guide" for the player, giving out objectives.

In my efforts to not spoil the great storyline, I can only say that as the player explores Rapture, many new characters are introduced and the story twists towards the end. Roles are changed and Bioshock introduces a minor new game play.

Throughout the game, the player is able to take hold of many "classic" weapons. While ammo are scarce vending machine with ammo and first-aid kits comes in handy. The player is also able to "puzzle" together different items by collecting scraps, and purchasing weapon upgrades as well as plasmid. Weapon ammo are highly customizable with "Armor Pricing Rounds", "Anti-Personnel Rounds", "Eletric Bulls" and many many more. Among all, perhaps the most unique is the wrench, a melee weapon that engages the player in close combat. Other than timing, and spamming left mouse button for "wacks", the player is able to have passive plasmid abilities to enhance the close combat experience. Abilities like freezing swings, or burning hits lets the player play at his or her own style. Other than the wrench, all other weapons also features upgrades, which further allows the player to choose their path.

The greatest experience is perhaps meeting the Big Daddy for the first time. Yes, he is the strange looking thing with a huge drill in his hand that is on the cover of the game. What is he exactly? Play the game! As for other enemies, the flying robotic drones and security cameras are very annoying while crazy mutated, weird looking, and insane splicers are plane scary. As Little Sisters are introduced, the player is given the choice to save them or kill them. The catch is that if you save them, you get only half the ADAM while killing them would give you much more. However, this would potentially impact the story ending, totally adding up to three different endings.

Other than the amazing game play and story, Bioshock also features fascinating Art work; that is if you have a chance to grab the collector's edition. It also comes with an awesome sound track.

Overall this is a must have for those who are looking for innovative horror shooter packed with RPG, strategy, and attractive story backed up with great voice acting and art work. Needless to say, this game is also "Game of the Year" alone with many countless rewards.
