yey on teh Blu-Ray discs price as well XD For now I spend most of my time on my 360. PS3 is showing improvements and more promises from time to time, well let's just see what happens in the near future. I would love to buy a PS3 but my pockets aint that deep.

You should just totally get a PC as it can do EVERYTHING. Heck we can even emulate PS2, XBOX games now. Who knows about 360 and ps3. Besides, the console exclusive games aren't like GODLY "ZOMG I MUST HAVE IT" anyways. Look at Crysis, EXCLUSIVE for pc only because consoles are too WEAK. |

but if you are going to be a hardcore PC gamer, then you need to spend thousands of dollars on a PC, and some of us don't have that type of money |

The problem is, if you can afford a console and say, 4 games, you are spending about 500 - 700. Given this price range, you can easy get yourself a mid-core level PC back in 2008's summer. Needless to say, right now is 2009, a price range like that would you get easily a system that can run Crysis at mid-level graphics with smooth frame rate. The common mis-conception is that PC is way more than a console. However, if you do your math right by including the money you spend on the games, not to mention online subscriptions for console, they may be the same. I mean on PC you can get free games if you know how to. Of course same with console but with much higher risk. In addition, if you don't know much about PC, it is guaranteed that you get ripped off. Unlike console, they come in universal price and only varies by model. PC, on the other hand, can vary much more than simply 2G ram vs 1G ram. In today's standards, if you were to get a PC that can run Crysis at full with say standard 19'' wide screen resolution and not getting the i7 Intel cores, you are pretty much looking at 700 - 900 depending on how and where you are getting it. Computers are not expansive if you know how and where to get it. The important thing to realize is that consoles are simply an easy package aimed at maximizing both the hardware and gaming industry's revenue. It are designed for "Video games for dummies". Of course it gives you much more room to do others without having to do all the research and all. It is just a much more simple way to play games without all the technicality of the PC and sometimes, PC can be very troublesome by giving you weird errors and crashes. If i didn't know so much about PC, maybe I'd be a hardcore console fan. |

With a 60 dollar, low-end graphics card, like a 7600 GT, you can run Crysis at medium-high level graphics with 30 FPS or more at 1024x768. If you add on 70 more bucks and buy a 4850 or so, you can easily max the graphics on Crysis on a respectable resolution. And there's no need to spend over 500-600 bucks. And CSXDemon, are you implying that console games are bug-free?

It is a mystery...

HA! a 7600 GT is what I've got and it runs everything I need :p Though meow that I got my first job I'm planning on upgrading my computer soon (and saving each part as I upgrade to make a new build so I can game with friends when they come over) And yeah, CSXdemons argument is the EXACT one I thought of for building my PC Though I told myself I was gonna get it for sound engineering(on top of gaming) but that was like "LULZ NVM!" haha :p Seriously though, if I had a console I'd probably own about 3 games and rarely touch it. My computer does everything I could want it to, and doesn't take much space. My monitor is nice and flat unlike any of the TVs in my house haha. I've got thousands of songs, thousands of hours of anime + movies, tons of games. Not that I pirated everything I have on here... but I guess I hold a higher value for music than games and some of the movies I pirate I do merely cuz I'm too lazy to go into the garage and put the DVD in my comp hehe And yeah, why get an NES when I have every NES game ROM? Not that I even touch those... but I've got em I have a ton of N64 games too, I play with a PS3 controller So... along with ChaoSXDemon I must say PC > all oh yeah btw in 2007 to build my comp it cost 1,000 (200 for my monitor though) A ps3 is what...? 600? with... 60$ games? the price of 10 games will get you a new ps3 haha |
